LAB³ Offers Proven Approach To Help Clients Realise Business Value With Generative AI

The LAB³ AI at Scale Framework is helping our clients rapidly adopt AI across their organisations.

To help organisations realise measurable business value from AI adoption, our AI Consulting Lead, Jason Leonard, and CTO, Lachlan White, have written an AI white paper explaining how the LAB³ AI at Scale framework enables our clients to rapidly transform with AI across their businesses.

“Given the rapid advancements in AI in the last few years, it is no surprise that interest is spiking in the corporate world,” says Jason, who for over twenty years has partnered with government and corporate enterprises to deploy innovative AI projects.  “However, only a relatively small percentage of organisations have obtained the hoped-for business outcomes from initial investments, let alone scaled the benefits of AI more broadly across their businesses.”

Instead, and of concern, Jason explains that “shadow AI usage has sprung up”.  This is when individuals, motivated by personal productivity gains, are using their own subscriptions to AI services in work contexts.

“Shadow AI gives rise to reputational and governance risks, such as inadvertent release of PII and leakage of intellectual property,” says Jason.

“The challenge is for organisations to rapidly and securely adopt AI in a way which results in business value and manages shadow AI.”

LAB³ is a leader in AI and in our innovation and delivery, we work in close partnership with Microsoft. Recently LAB³ became one of the first Microsoft partners world-wide to have attained both the Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure + AI Platform on Microsoft Azure specializations.

“In our delivery of AI projects for our clients, LAB³ has gained extensive insight over the challenges organisations face with AI adoption,” says Lachlan.

“LAB³ has developed a framework that helps our clients achieve initial success for identified use-cases, and then
provides the building blocks for broader success for AI by scaling across their businesses. We refer to this as the LAB³ AI at Scale framework.”

Covering the whole of a typical AI adoption journey, the LAB³ AI at Scale framework involves four main phases (see figure below):

    1. Exploration phase: LAB³ partners with clients and their teams from across business units to identify potential use-cases in a Business Envisioning Workshop
    2. Planning phase: LAB³ designs a secure AI Landing Zone, leveraging Microsoft’s AI and cloud technologies. The LAB³AI Landing Zone Accelerator provides an enterprise-grade, secure environment to begin rapidly deploying and developing AI applications on Azure—significantly reducing the time required to design, build and secure the supporting infrastructure.
    3. Implementation phase: LAB³ deploys the AI Landing Zone and develops AI use cases which will achieve measurable business value
    4. Scaling phase: LAB³ helps our clients to establish an AI Centre of Excellence within the client’s organisation to provide AI lifecycle management and governance for the rapid and secure adoption of AI broadly across their organisations.

“Our aim is to help our clients realise measurable business value and open the door for ongoing AI innovation by every business unit across their organisation,” says Lachlan.

Wherever your organisation might be on your AI adoption journey, the LAB³ AI white paper provides useful insight to any organisation looking for confidence in their path forward
